Matt and Laura were married May 16th at Calvary Community Church with their reception following at the always fabulous Del Ray Ballroom. The entire day was simply perfect and Kara and I had an amazing time. Thank you to Matt and Laura (as well as their family and friends) for being such a delight to work with!

Brian and Amanda were married May 2 at North American Martyrs in Lincoln. The followed up the gorgeous ceremony with a reception at Lincoln Station. Not only was it at Lincoln Station (one of my favorite venues) but they had the band Soul Dawg (I love bands too!) so it was an extra amazing night. We even lucked out with a beautiful open field across the street from the church for some great portraits of the two of them together. Thanks again for letting us in on such a fabulous day!

Ryan and Anne were married April 25th in Lincoln. The weather wasn't particularly ideal (cold and rainy) but we didn't let that stop us from getting some amazing photos. Anne and Ryan actually met in RUSSIA and are now planning to spend the beginning of married life together in Lincoln. They are such an amazing couple and their enthusiasm for life (and each other) is absolutely infectious.

Jesse and Heather had a gorgeous Valentine's Day wedding in Lincoln. Their ceremony was held at the Newman Center on UNL's campus and the reception was at the Rococo Theater (amazing!) It was a little chilly, but Heather and Jesse were brave and we were able to take a little walk through downtown prior to the ceremony and captured some really great photos. Thank you for the opportunity!

In February my best friend and amazing wedding assistant, Katy and her husband Joel welcomed Ella to their family! I'm beyond excited to be an "aunt" and the official photographer! Ella is the cutest thing ever and nearly every visit includes some kind of photo session. The attached photos are from the first three sessions...at 1 day, 10 days, and 5 weeks.

Matt and Laura are actually my second couple named Matt and Laura! Matt and Laura #1 got married last May and the current Matt and Laura are getting married THIS May. Confusing, huh? I also have two couples named Matt and Jessica...and they are BOTH getting married this summer within a month of each other.

I met with Matt and Laura last fall for their engagement session at Sunken Gardens and the new Hamann Rose Garden. If you have seen Sunken Gardens lately it is pretty obvious these weren't taken anytime in the last 5 months! I had to make special use of the ledges, benches and steps in the gardens because Matt and Laura are both incredibly tall and as much as I enjoy shooting from lower angles I didn't want them ALL from a lower angle!

I know it's shocking, but I am actually blogging photos that were taken recently...as in less than two weeks ago! That doesn't mean I still don't have an insane number of weddings, engagement and portrait sessions from months ago to blog, but I thought I'd show something current for a change.

Jonathon and Amanda's wedding was the first of 2009 for me and we really lucked out for January. We had beautiful sunny skies and mid-forties that made it possible to stay outside for more than 5 minutes. I have accumulated a few new toys over the winter so I had a great time breaking them in and was very happy with the results. Of course Jonathon and Amanda are just absolutely delightful to work with and the day was just perfect.

I also must give kudos to whoever made that cake...it was possibly the best ever!

Mitch and Jessica picked two of my favorite "wedding spots:" Sunken Gardens and Chez Hay! Add in the beautiful weather and amazing wedding party and their day could not have been more perfect. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know both of you and I am so happy to have been part of your day!

Deacon is a pretty famous little baby. His photo session has already been featured on the Marma Designs Blog , and now here! I'm good friends with his mom and dad and I'm so happy they brought him in for his first photo session! We had lots of fun and he was a perfect subject.

It's been quite a while since I've posted any Oliver photos. A couple of weeks ago Oliver's best friend and cousin, Piper was visiting and after a hard day playing I found them cuddled up on the futon. Could they be any cuter?
